# Manage User/Extension Permissions and Roles
The **Edit Permission** feature allows account administrators to control the access and responsibilities assigned to individual extensions. You can give an extension full administrator access, restrict access to specific modules, or assign the extension as a leader for one or more groups or call centers.
#### Location
Navigate to:
**Phone System > Users (Extensions) > Action > Edit Permission**
Click the **circle/checkmark icon** in the Action column to open the permission settings for the extension.

### 1. Is Admin?
The **Is Admin** option determines whether the extension has administrator-level access to the account. If you want enable it, please check this box.
* **Enabled** – The extension is given account administrator privileges and can access all available modules and features.
* **Disabled** – The extension will only have the permissions specifically assigned to it.
Use this option when you want to give a user complete access to manage the account.
> Use caution when enabling this option, as an administrator can access and manage all available account modules.

### 2. Available Permissions
The **Available Permissions** section allows you to control which modules or pages an extension can access.
The available permissions are displayed on the left, while the permissions currently assigned to the extension are displayed under **Permissions Granted**.
#### Assigning Permissions
1. Select one or more permissions from **Available Permissions (left)**.
2. Click the **`>`** button to move the selected permissions to **Permissions Granted(right)**.
3. To grant all available permissions, click **`>>`**.
4. To remove a permission, select it under **Permissions Granted** and click **`<`**.
5. To remove all granted permissions, click **`<<`**.
You can use **Ctrl + Click** to select multiple permissions.
This allows an administrator to provide access only to the modules required by a particular user.
#### Example
A sales manager may only need access to:
* Phone Numbers
* Users/Extensions
* Call Records
* Messaging
Instead of making the user an account administrator, you can grant access only to the required modules.

### 3. Make This Extension a Group Leader
This section allows you to assign the extension as a **Group Leader** for one or more groups.
The **Available Groups** list displays groups that can be assigned to the extension. Groups assigned to the extension are displayed under **Group Leader Of**.
#### Assign a Group
1. Select the desired group from **Available Groups**.
2. Click **`>`** to assign the group to the extension.
3. To assign all available groups, click **`>>`**.
4. Use **`<`** or **`<<`** to remove groups from the extension.
A group leader can be given responsibility for managing or overseeing the assigned group, depending on the features and permissions available to that group.

### 4. Make This Extension a Call Center Leader
This section allows you to assign the extension as a **Call Center Leader** for one or more call centers.
The **Available Groups** list displays the available call center groups, while **Callcenter Leader Of** shows the groups currently assigned to the extension.
#### Assign a Call Center
1. Select a call center from **Available Groups**.
2. Click **`>`** to assign it to the extension.
3. Use **`>>`** to assign all available call centers.
4. Use **`<`** or **`<<`** to remove the assignment.
This can be useful when a supervisor or manager needs responsibility for one or more call centers without requiring full account administrator access.

### Permission Management Example
For example, an organization may have:
* Extension 101 – Account Administrator
* Extension 102 – Sales Group Leader
* Extension 103 – Support Call Center Leader
* Extension 104 – Standard user with access only to Call Records and Messaging
This permission structure allows administrators to provide users with the appropriate level of access while avoiding unnecessary administrator privileges.

This provides a flexible way to manage user access based on their role and responsibilities within the organization.
